Peggy Dlugos is a fiber/textile artist living in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Nine years ago she began experimenting with natural dyes and the eco- printing technique as a way of connecting with the Pikes Peak regional landscape. Taking the time to learn about the history and diverse plant life of our local landscape, planting her own dye garden, and incorporating Manitou Springs mineral water in her dye baths, has not only enriched her experience of living in this magnificently beautiful area, but has also made a profound impact on her art.
Today she strives to practice sustainable eco-friendly techniques in coaxing color from both the plants in her dye garden and from those responsibly foraged from the surrounding area. The textiles and papers she creates are all embedded and infused with images and color reflective of the Front Range of Colorado.
